As we accommodate both paedo & credo-baptism, it affords the opportunity to labor for unity in regards to the glory which baptism proclaims. Whether a baby baptized in infancy or a repentant sinner, who after a long & hard life of sin comes to be baptized, baptism is God’s Word to & about us. This watery sign tells you that you’ve been joined to Christ, and are reckoned righteous.
Being baptized, as the Great Commission reminds us, is then to be followed by obedience & discipleship. God says you’re His; you say, “Amen” by living like a faithful subject of King Jesus, obeying everything He’s commanded. “Believe & be baptized” is Christ’s command to all nations; and if you’ve been baptized, believe. In your baptism, Christ lays claim to you; your assignment is to believe that all the days of your life. For the Christian life is one that begins and ends in faith.
So welcome our sister to Jesus Christ…
