NOTE: An earlier version of this post was published, and then I made the rookie mistake of overwriting it with an old draft. So, if by chance you read the first version I published, you’re one of the lucky ones. The rest of you will have to wonder what that first version contained. Nevertheless, here’s me taking a second crack at this thing!
So you’re a Christian considering voting for Joe. Let me illuminate for you what that vote encompasses, and then why don’t you sit back and ponder whether this all comports with a biblically consistent worldview.
A vote for Joe, shall we be frank, is a vote for Kamala. Whether that is eight years from now, or four, or (let us continue our frankness shall we) five months from now, Kamala is clearly the DNCs heir apparent. Yes, the gal who threw hundreds of men into the slammer without presenting vindicating evidence is being positioned to take the reins of the Oval Office in the very near future.
A vote for Joe is also a vote for Ilhan, AOC, Bernie, and Warren. You kid yourself if the progressive wing of the Democratic party will go quietly into the night. The progressives are more like both wings of the party, and moderates (like Feinstein) will suddenly find themselves as a mere feather in their party. The progressives are here to stay in the Democratic party, and they are the party.
A vote for Joe is not a “safe” alternative to Trump’s oft-unhinged rhetoric. Joe is being carted out there just to make millions of Americans feel safe. He’s the warm hands on your shoulder, whispering that once he is in power you will feel safe again, secure again, and properly sedated again. All your wishes for a gentle, a more reasonable level of civil discourse in our country will come true. That is a pipe dream my friend. Joe is merely the familiar face that is being used to advance foreign values. The sort of values that do not advocate for individual responsibility, freedom of conscience, and self-government.
A vote for Joe is a vote for Climate Change programmes. You thought the COVID lockdowns were unbearable, wait until Joe uses Climate Change as an excuse for various infringements of liberty. Climate Change, like Obamacare, will become the next Trojan Horse that will be used to strip more of our freedoms, inserting civil government into every facet of our life.
A vote for Joe is a vote for the crushed skulls of unborn babies.
A vote for Joe is a vote for more drag-queen story hours (which will be mandatory) at your child’s elementary school and the public library.
A vote Joe is a vote for your pastor getting sued for not performing the marriage of two dudes, or three dudes and a chick, or an incel and his sexbot.
A vote for Joe is a vote for a front. It’s like being lured in by the All-you-can-eat China-Buffet that boasts, “#1 Buffet in Town”, only to discover less-than-savory fare, and a less than savory stomach bug for the next three days. As a radio commentator my dad used to listen to was fond of saying, “Party always trumps person.” Biden will not be pulled to the center, he’ll be harangued to march obediently to the leftist totalitolerance march.
A vote for Joe is a vote for his cabinet. Imagine Bernie as the Labor Secretary. Imagine Warren as Secretary of Education. Imagine Kasich as Secretary of the Interior. Imagine AOC as his primary Climate Change advisor.
A vote for Joe is a vote for the sort of progressive judges we have endured for lo these many decades. Judges who enact policy rather than act as an immune system against unconstitutional policy.
A vote for Joe is a vote for the unambiguous continuation of the exaltation of the victim class, and the tyranny of unfounded accusation. Do you want your son to lose his scholarship simply because a jilted ex-girlfriend accuses him of rape?
A vote for Joe is a vote for war-mongering. Let us be honest, one thing the establishment can’t abide is a war-less governance. They need it. Mark my words, if Joe wins we will be in an armed conflict within a year.
A vote for Joe is a vote for a justice system where you must oil the palm of the judge, rather than a blind system where no one is above the law.
So my dear reader, as you can see, a vote for Joe is not merely a vote for a kinder, gentler sort of politician. Joe, and his party, wants mothers to be able to slaughter their child up to nine months (and even after birth). Joe wants eight year olds to have their genitals mutilated and their natural hormones surpressed to appease the sexual ethic of the left. So no, a vote for Joe is not consistent with a biblical worldview. It is a vote for the madness of guilt-ridden crowds. It is a vote for chains. It is a vote for all the self-centered pride that got us here.
I’m not here to address the warts of the Trump presidency, I’ve done so elsewhere. This is a simple call for evangelicals, who are toying with voting for Joe because he’s “nicer” to think through what is behind that “no malarky” guise which Joe presents. It is a ghastly agenda which runs counter to the advancement of Christian economics, theology, ecclesiology, and a biblical view of the family.
